Big Window Collective is a collaborative group of artists, performers, theatre practitioners and workshop leaders who have joined forces for a ten week residency in an empty shop located within Brixton Village Market from 25th January – 4th April 2010.

Big Window Collective brings a programme of unique and exciting community theatre, art installation, workshops and performance projects to the area. We will be transforming the space on a weekly basis to accommodate the different activities we will be hosting.

Big Window Collective is united by its vision to bring live art to public spaces.

There are lots of opportunities to get involved at the Big Window Collective. We are always happy to hear from artists, muscians, poets etc. The two main opportunities we offer are slots in our No Frills Cabaret and our Window Gallery. There are also ongoing workshops most Saturdays.

Make a ‘Room’ community workshop with Andrea Carr and Helen Preddy starts Saturday 6th Feb 10 – 5pm, for all ages, free event

No Frills Cabaret – Big Window’s first cabaret eeningevening kicks off on 6th Feb, doors open 6.45 show 7-10pm, limited spaces so come early. Tea and biscuits,fairy cakes, virgin cocktails, bring your own.. Admission £5.00 / £3.00 cons.
 

Big Window Collective is part of an initiative organised by Space Makers Agency, London & Associated Properties PLC and Lambeth Council and from the 17th December 2009 Brixton Village Market became alive with new businesses and creative enterprises.
